About the Role

Main Roads Western Australia is growing rapidly due to technological advancements and their impact on the transport landscape. This growth is creating new challenges and opportunities within the organisation.

Reporting to the Traffic Engineering Standards Manager, we are seeking a professional and experienced Senior Traffic Engineer to provide specialist traffic engineering advice to internal staff and external consultants, to develop, maintain and deploy traffic engineering standards and guidelines and carry out and review traffic engineering analyses using specialised software.

The Senior Traffic Engineering also organises or provides training to graduates and other engineers in the use of and application of traffic engineering principles and software.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have substantial skill, knowledge and experience in the development and use of traffic engineering practices and processes, including the use of SIDRA Intersection and HCS+ traffic analysis software.

You will have a strong background in researching, analysing and problem solving, including the application of traffic engineering standards. You will have excellent technical report writing skills and you also need to be able to build and maintain positive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for the direct supervision of a number of staff and will need to be effective in managing employee behaviour, performance and development.

A Degree in Civil Engineering or Traffic / Transportation Engineering is mandatory for this role.

  • A copy of your degree in Civil Engineering or Traffic / Transportation Engineering. If your degree was obtained overseas, please also submit the Australia equivalency.
