*includes base salary $163,766 to $171,854 pa, professional development allowance $14,528 pa and 10.5% employer contributed superannuation.
Full time (80 hours per fortnight) salary as per WA Health System Medical Practitioners AMA Industrial Agreement 2016.

Please note your level will be assessed based on your years of experience. Employees who moves between different WA Department of Health entities will bring their entitlements (annual leave, long service leave, personal leave) with them. Taking a rural contract is not viewed as a break in service.

POSITION PROFILE
As Trainee Registrar of Public Health, you will work with the Public Health Physician and South West Public Health Unit to develop and support projects in disease control and immunisation.
A key function of this position will be to liaise with a variety of stakeholders including hospital clinicians, general practitioners, regional public health teams, sexual health teams and Aboriginal community-controlled health services whilst running screening programs and managing disease outbreaks.
You will also be required to carry our epidemiological analysis, collaborate with Health promotion and Local Government to respond to other public health risk and provide education and advice to general practice, other health staff and community-based organisations in relation to public health issues such as vaping, local government public health planning, immunisation and disease control.

The position is accredited for Advanced Public Health Training with the RACP and has an active education program and strong culture of learning, research and academic achievement.

ELIGIBILITY TO APPLY
To be successful you will need to hold AHPRA registration and be eligible to enrol as an Advanced Trainee in the Australian Faculty of Public Health Medicine.
You will also need to have completed a Master of Public Health Medicine and have at least three years post-graduate medical experience.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of cultural issues and social determinants particularly relating to Aboriginal Health is a must.
