The Role and our Branch

The Curriculum, Assessment and Strategic Policy Division is seeking an International Education Coordination Officer to join their team.

The School Curriculum and Standards Division (the Division) provides administrative and secretariat services for, and implements the decisions of, the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority). The Authority provides quality curriculum and ensures assessment standards to enable all students being taught the Western Australian Curriculum to become confident, creative learners and active, informed citizens who contribute positively to society.

The International Education Coordination Officer will undertake the following:

  • coordinate, implement and monitor administrative systems, including developing processes and procedures, to support the delivery of the Authority’s international education program
  • undertake research and investigations on trends and issues of interest and importance to the international education program, including activities to support the expansion of the program
  • gather, record and analyse data to inform future international education service planning and reporting
  • coordinate contract development processes for new and existing schools
  • prepare documentation related to school moderation processes
  • schedule and coordinate overseas travel for a range of official purposes
  • conduct school invoicing and financial reconciliation processes
  • coordinate venue bookings required for international education activities, including meetings and training opportunities, and arrange catering where required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, for this role, will be an asset when liaising with officers across the Division, and overseas and local international education stakeholders.

Eligibility and Training Requirements

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
  • obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
  • complete
    • the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
    • training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
    • the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
