What is the Aboriginal Employment Program (AEP)?
The AEP is a diversity and inclusion initiative that sits within the department’s Aboriginal Employment Strategy and the Diversity and Inclusion Plan. It is a 12-month program which provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people employment and career development opportunities. The program commences in February 2023.

Come to our AEP Open Day on Thursday, 17 November 2022 from 10am to 1pm at 1 Adelaide Terrace, East Perth. You will be provided with an insight into the role of the Department in the WA Community and the available positions. Attendees will also get to hear from current Aboriginal employees about their experiences and journey with DMIRS.

What you will be doing?
In this role, you will work alongside a team of 18 Senior and Tenancy Bonds Officers responsible for undertaking the full range of activities required for processing tenancy bonds transactions.
We are looking for candidates that have good communication and interpersonal skills that can effectively communicate with our diverse audience by email, phone and face to face. You will also be able to problem solve, and manage expectations of customers while taking the required action with incorrect and incomplete tenancy bond applications.
In addition to the above you will be helping with quality assurance checks of tenancy bond applications, in accordance with relevant policy and procedures.

This position is located in Perth, located at 140 William Street, directly above the Perth Underground train station, getting to work will be easy. With fantastic food options and coffee shops close by to get your day started, lunch can be spent shopping at major stores nearby, or you can visit galleries and museum a short stroll away.

What are we looking for?
To be shortlisted for interview, you are required to submit the following two application documents;
- A maximum two (2) page covering letter using examples to address the requirements outlined below,
- Ability to use computer systems to undertake a range of administrative duties with an attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying and finding solutions with a focus on continuous improvements to administrative problems.
- Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills to a diverse audience using a variety of mediums.
- A current resume including the names of two (2) referees, with a current line manager preferred.
