What is the Aboriginal Employment Program (AEP)?
The AEP is a diversity and inclusion initiative that sits within the department’s Aboriginal Employment Strategy and the Diversity and Inclusion Plan. It is a 12-month program which provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people employment and career development opportunities. The program commences in February 2023.

Come to our AEP Open Day on Thursday, 17 November 2022 from 10am to 1pm at 1 Adelaide Terrace, East Perth. You will be provided with an insight into the role of the Department in the WA Community and the available positions. What you will be doing?
This position is within the Resource Tenure Division, which is responsible for administering the granting of tenure for resource exploration and production and facilitates access to land for resource activities.
Working as an Assistant Project Officer, you will provide administrative support to Project Officers to help monitor and facilitate negotiations between stakeholders to achieve agreements to issue valid titles for mining activities. You will also receive and process applications for mining tenements, dealings and other applications under the Mining Act 1978 and other Acts relating to mineral tenure.
We are currently looking for a customer focussed individual who has experience in the provision of administrative and clerical support to ensure tasks are completed within the given timeframe. In addition, your ability to understand and apply legislation and work well independently as well as in a team, is also essential for this role.

What are we looking for?

- Experience in the provision of administrative and clerical support together with experience in providing a client/customer service.
- Proven organisational and time management skills including the demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
