About the Role
The Central and Northern Regions Directorate of Main Roads delivers road asset management, network operations and minor construction and maintenance practices throughout Western Australia, from five regional offices. As part of this directorate, our Goldfields-Esperance office, based in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, boasts a professional and friendly working environment that is devoted to the region and supporting our community.
We are currently seeking a Project Contract Manager for our Goldfields-Esperance Branch based in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, who have exposure to effectively managing medium, reasonably complex projects; including scoping, project development, design and delivery, preparing tender documentation and managing the tendering processes. Whilst you will be based in the Kalgoorlie-Boulder office, you will be required to travel across the region to effectively manage projects.
The Project Contract Manager will work predominantly in the project development area, however, the position may be interchanged with the delivery area based on operational requirements from time to time.
Working with a diverse team of local, professional contractors and Agency staff, you will be hands-on in this challenging role, where you will be exposed to managing consultants and contractors for the planning, development and delivery of road and bridge projects.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in road and/or bridge design, construction and maintenance and exposure to managing resources, leading projects and achieving project deadlines. Your ability to develop positive, professional relationships will be well utilised when engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Self-motivation, initiative and broader communication and negotiation skills are also essential for you to perform in this role.
The position will provide you with the opportunity to use highly developed analytical, problem solving, project and contract management skills to develop and deliver projects from conception to completion.
