About the Graduate Officer – Mineral Titles position
The Geoscience and Titles Information branch is seeking a recent graduate with a Bachelor degree in Surveying or Geographic Information Systems (GIS), bachelor degree to be completed in 2021 or later.
Contributing knowledge and skills toward contemporary spatial science solutions and new systems research and development, you will collaborate with teams managing the spatial administration of mining tenure and their interaction with other land cadastre data layers to ensure accurate grant conditions and security on mining title. You will with precision, verify and integrate incoming mining title data both surveyed mining lease information, liaising with authorised licenced surveyors ensuring statutory obligations and with unsurveyed application data, lodged by the mining exploration industry. You will ensure this mining data is precisely integrated with other related administrative and land category datasets received from key agencies, incorporating them into our spatial systems. This will also involve the integration of our surveyed mining lease data into Landgate’s cadastral system, vitally adding to the integrity of the state wide surveyed cadastre network.
In addition you will use your analytical skills and creative flair to produce tailored maps and spatial analysis products to meet client and business needs. Your role will directly influence and contribute toward continuous improvement across the Branch by sharing your knowledge, enhancing stakeholder and staff experience alike, ensuring your contribution toward adding value to our spatial data and systems, which will benefit our community and State.
This position is located in East Perth, however you may be required to work at other sites.
