About the role
We are seeking a suitably experienced person to fill the permanent full-time position of Senior Project Officer - Strategy and Research.
This position supports the Senior Strategy and Research Officer to develop high-level evidence based strategic advice as it relates to evaluation and research, and also informs the development of the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries’ sport and recreation programs and services.
The successful candidate should have experience in understanding and interpreting contemporary research and policy documents, ideally in relation to sport, recreation and physical activity.

Conditions
A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment.
While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants found suitable for this position may be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within DLGSC and/or the wider public sector which arise within twelve months of the recruitment process being endorsed. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Future vacancies may be considered fixed term, permanent, part-time or full-time.
To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the Western Australian Public Sector, you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

This role is based at 246 Vincent Street Leederville.
