This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full Time appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
The Chief Allied Health Office (CAHO) is seeking to appoint dynamic individuals to manage the two CAHO portfolios of allied health and assistive technology. Each successful applicant will lead one portfolio under the direction of the Chief Allied Health Officer.
We currently have two Fixed Term roles available:
- Allied Health portfolio until October 2023 – This role leads and manages the development and implementation of policy responses relating to allied health and health science policy and practice, as well as supporting homeless health initiatives
- Assistive Technology portfolio until June 2024 - This role leads and manages the development and implementation of assistive technology policy and programs, and provides input to transitional arrangements (including from hospital and between health and disability sectors).

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/11/2023.
Position Profile: The Principal Allied Health Advisor leads and manages a team in the development, delivery and implementation of a portfolio of policy initiatives and reforms that support organisational objectives and Government commitments.
The successful candidates will:
- Provide expert guidance and advice to the Chief Allied Health Officer the Department of Health and the Government on issues relating to allied health policy and practice to support the delivery of safe, quality and effective allied health services in WA.
- Provide high level consultancy advice on Allied Health policy and practice initiatives.
- Coordinate strategic research and policy development into clinical practice, planning of allied health reform and evidence based policy.
- Contribute to developing clinical leadership capability through the development and implementation of education and training strategies.
- Advise the Department of Health’s senior management on current and future roles, practice and policy impacting upon allied health programs and services
