About the role
We are seeking applicants with a strong focus on developing their facilitation and technical skills and who have good availability during normal business hours, to provide quality camp experiences with a strong focus on customer service.
Successful applicants will be considered for casual engagements in our recreation camps delivering entry-level programs from the start of Term 4, 2022.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are reliable, can work well independently as well as in a team environment, and are keen to obtain outdoor instructor technical qualifications.
Employment is seasonal and during normal business hours with some evening programs and weekend work available (no overnight stay required). Applicants who are willing to travel to more than one recreation camp will find greater hours of work are available to them.
The instructor’s rate of pay is determined based on qualifications, experience, and the program being delivered.

Successful applicants will have a comprehensive training calendar available to them to obtain a broad range of courses and development programs.

Conditions
A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment and due to the position having a significant child-related focus applicants must be able to obtain a current Working with Children Check if successful in their application.
Applicants will also need to obtain a First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011 Provide First Aid or higher) alongside a current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certificate before being eligible for work.
To be eligible for appointment to temporary positions in the Western Australian Public Sector, you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period of the contract.

Bickley Outdoor Recreation Camp (Orange Grove)
Ern Halliday Recreation Camp (Whitfords)
Point Walter Recreation and Conference Centre (Bicton)
Woodman Point Recreation Camp (Coogee)
Camp Quaranup (Albany)
This recruitment is targeted towards the Perth metropolitan recreation camps.
