The Role
The role undertakes Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) switching, High Voltage (HV) testing and earthing for OLE isolations under the direction of a Nominated Person (NP) and general support to maintenance activities, whilst maintaining a safe working environment at all times in accordance with PTA requirements.
To be successful in this role you will need sound numeracy and literacy skills and a demonstrated ability to use relevant hand and power tools, machinery and equipment, during a basic practical assessment. Current accreditation in Construction Industry White Card and a current Western Australian ‘C' Class driver’s licence or equivalent for at least 2 years are a mandatory requirement of the role.
This is a fixed term appointment up to 30/06/2024 with possible extension and/or permanency.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool for 12 months from which permanent and fixed term appointments may be made.
As these positions are operational in nature, you must also be:
- Willing to work unsociable and irregular hours, including shift work and weekends;
- Prepared to undertake numerical, verbal and mechanical reasoning aptitude tests and complete a pre-employment medical assessment (including drug and alcohol screening).
