Byford Secondary College (SC) is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Digital Technologies teacher to join our team. We are committed to excellence in teaching and learning and are seeking a like-minded teacher who has a passion for teaching secondary students.
The successful applicant will be an active contributor to the Technologies learning area, who will strive to engage students with an interesting and challenging Digital Technologies curriculum, preparing them for future pathways and careers in the digital world. Ideally, the successful applicant will have recent experience teaching in General and Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) courses, as well as the ability to delivery Certificate courses.
You should possess a sound understanding of the Digital Technologies curriculum and courses, as well as the ability to use high impact learning strategies to successfully engage students. The ability to differentiate curriculum and implement innovative approaches to improve outcomes for both high and low achieving students is a key element to this position. You will build positive relationships with your students and be passionate about creating positive futures for students and utilise evidence-based decision-making skills within your practice.
Byford SC is a newer school in Perth’s southern suburbs. We have first-class facilities to support high-quality teaching and learning programs in our college. Located approximately 30 kilometres from the Perth CBD, our College currently caters for over 1500 Year 7 to 12 students including students with disabilities with our specialist inclusion facilities. Our school motto, Aspire to Excellence, clearly articulates our vision of being the secondary school of choice for the local community providing a comprehensive suite of subjects from Year 7 through 12. The College offers an academic extension program for students by selection, in partnership with the University of Western Australia. This ‘Aspire’ program provides these students with access to the university's staff and facilities to enhance their learning experience.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
