Media and Communication Coordinator
We currently have a Fixed Term, Full Time vacancy for a period of 18 months with the possiblily of extension.
This vacancy is to cover a period of maternity leave.

About the role
The position coordinates communications and media team within the WA Museum Marketing, Media and Audience Development branch. The position is responsible for developing, coordinating and evaluating the Museum’s media and communications strategies including media relations, earned social media content and external communications to enhance and promote the Museum’s reputation, programs and services.
This role services all WA Museum locations including:
- WA Museum Boola Bardip
- WA Maritime Museum
- WA Shipwrecks Museum
- Museum of the Goldfields
- Museum of Geraldton
- Museum of the Great Southern
- Collections and Research Centre, Welshpool
The role is located at the WA Museum Boola Bardip, in the Perth Cultural Centre.
About you
We are looking for an experienced media and communications coordinator who is passionate about promoting the work of the Museum including research, exhibitions, programs and events.
The successful applicant will be expected to:
- Coordinate the team in planning, development and implementation of effective media and communication strategies that promote the diverse work of the WA Museum.
- Lead the development and implementation of media (including social media) content frameworks and policies.
- Write for a range of media and publications and manage effective media networks to maximise opportunities for the Museum.

Eligibility to Apply
To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.
A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.

Pool Recruitment
