The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Design Engineer who will provide specialist support to the Principal Engineer by way of design, modification and maintenance of PTA’s Rollingstock. This position sits within the Mechanical Engineering Branch of the Transperth Train Operations Division and will manage the creation, approval and publication of engineering drawings for the PTA’s Rollingstock fleets.
To be successful in this position you must have:
- An Advanced Diploma of Engineering qualification or equivalent.
- A minimum of three years industry experience.
- Knowledge of Technical Drawing Standards.
- Experience in Mechanical Engineering design and manufacturing.
- Ability to provide clear advice and feedback to multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Ability to, and experience in, applying engineering methods to solve problems and demonstrate sound conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of AutoCAD 2D and Inventor 3D software packages or equivalent.
Applicants must be in possession of a current WA ‘C’ or ‘C-A’ Class Drivers Licence or equivalent and must be willing to work outside normal office hours on occasion. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool for 12 months from which permanent and fixed term appointments will be made.
