The Role
As the first line of defence in ensuring safety and performance of our rail network, track inspection is a critical activity at the PTA. Track Inspectors assist with the inspection, protection, certification and reporting on the safe and proper condition of all Track Assets across the PTA network.
We are looking for candidates who are in possession of a Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure (preferably specialising in track maintenance and/or inspection) and the following units of competence (or equivalent):
- TLIB3099 Examine Track Infrastructure
- TLIB3100 Visually Inspect Track Infrastructure
You must have experience inspecting railway systems/ perway and a current Western Australian ‘C’ or ‘C-A’ Class Driver’s Licence (or equivalent). Note this is not a trainee role. You must meet 100% of the position requirements at the point of application.
As these positions are operational in nature, you must also be:
- Willing to work unsociable and irregular hours, including shift work and weekends;
- Prepared to undertake numerical, verbal and mechanical reasoning aptitude tests and complete a pre-employment medical assessment (including drug and alcohol screening).
