The School Curriculum and Standards Division is seeking to establish a pool of motivated and skilled Executive Support Officers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2022 and up to the end of 2023. Appointments may be made from the pool at any time for commencements within 2022, up to the end 2023.
There is a permanent part time (0.4FTE) available for February 2022 commencement.

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and skilled Executive Support Officer with excellent computer, secretarial and administrative skills to work in the School Curriculum and Standards Division as the Executive Support Officer to the Assistant Executive Director, Curriculum, Assessment and Strategic Planning.

On a day-to-day basis you will provide a high standard of administrative support to the Assistant Executive Director. This varied role is ideal for an individual with well-developed organisational skills who thrives in a large team environment and undertaking tasks that require the development and achievement of agreed objectives.
The School Curriculum and Standard’s Authority is responsible for Kindergarten to Year 12 curriculum, assessment, standards and reporting for all Western Australian Schools. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment across a varied portfolio to support a diverse range of stakeholders.
The suitable applicants will possess significant secretarial and administrative experience and a high-level working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook. In this role you will have the ability to self-manage, be proactive in the development and maintenance of effective administrative systems and adapt to changing priorities. In addition, the successful candidate will be committed to supporting and developing teams to provide a high-quality service.

Your written application will be assessed against the following Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated knowledge of and considerable experience in the delivery of administration support services, including the ability to provide executive support to senior managers.
- Demonstrated sound oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external key stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated sound written communication skills with the ability to prepare correspondence, minutes and briefing notes.
- Demonstrated sound research, conceptual, analytical and time management skills, including the ability to manage conflicting deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated well developed computer skills, including a working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, word processing and experience using an electronic records management system.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:

- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
