The position
The Senior Geophysicist undertakes project-based natural-source seismology studies, integrating geophysical and geological datasets, and compiles quality, comprehensive reports, maps and models to publication standard. In addition, the role processes and assists in the interpretation of geophysical datasets using industry-standard software, and assists in the integration of seismology into Geological Survey activities, processes, databases and products
In this role, you will be working within the Earth Imaging and Observation team responsible for providing professional expertise and experience when contributing to the development of new projects and the planning and organizing of geoscience studies and associated fieldwork.
This position is located in East Perth conveniently close distance from public transport and nearby City of Perth parking. What are we looking for?
To be considered further, please submit a detailed CV and a covering letter (of no more than 2 pages), addressing the following:
- Bachelor of Science (Geophysics) or approval equivalent degree.
- Experience in the acquisition, processing and interpretation of natural-source seismological data and a demonstrated ability to compile quality comprehensive reports, maps and models to publication standard.
- Demonstrated experience in processing and interpreting seismological data for crustal and lithospheric imaging, local seismicity and seismic hazard and monitoring.
