The PTA is seeking Expressions of Interest from individuals who can satisfy the requirements to undertake the duties of key positions in the High-Capacity Signalling (HCS) Program of Works.
Background
The High-Capacity Signalling – Program of Works is comprised of the following three projects:
- the Radio System Replacement (RSR) Project which will provide a new digital radio system to replace the PTA’s existing analogue radio system;
- the Public Transport Operations Control Centre (PTOCC) Project which will provide a new Operations Control Centre which will accommodate a new Network Control Centre; and
- the High-Capacity Signalling (HCS) Project which will replace the PTA’s existing signalling and train control systems to enable increased service frequencies to meet the rail demand forecasted under long-term planning.
This Program consists of a number of discrete but interrelated elements affecting the PTA’s existing radio communications, signalling and train control systems and railway operations more generally. The combined Program will be delivered over a timeframe of up to 10 years in stages; across the existing urban passenger railway network in the Transperth system as well as those parts of the railway network traversed by other rail operators, including Transwa rail services within the Perth metropolitan area.
Key Positions
The PTA is seeking individuals with relevant skills and experience to submit an Expression of Interest for one or more of the key roles that have been defined for the immediate first line of project delivery support to the Program Director.
Expressions of Interest (EOI) are sought for the following key positions:
- Integration Manager;
- Operations Interface Manager;
- Coordinating Project Engineer(s);
- Commercial and Controls Manager;
- HCS Commissioning Manager;
- Rail Systems Innovation Manager
- HCS Change Manager; and
- HCS Delivery Manager.
- Railway Operations Manager
To be considered for these positions, you will need:
- to demonstrate that you have considerable experience and knowledge of rail operations or complex transport systems and the technical systems that support operations;
- demonstrated management skills, particularly in the delivery of technology-based projects and their integration into operating transport systems;
- well-developed leadership skills, including a high level of initiative, people management and team building skills;
- highly developed communication skills;
- high level project and contract management skills and experience; and
- critical thinking (problem solving and decision making).
The PTA offers fixed term appointment on conditions of employment in the Public Transport Authority Salaried Officer’s Agreement 2020. Positions are offered on a full-time basis for periods of 3 years duration, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.
