About the role
This is an outstanding development opportunity for an experienced solicitor with family law experience and a passion for working in the area of family violence to manage the Domestic Violence Legal Unit (DVLU)
This role will manage staff and the day to day operations of the unit including provision of legal advice and representation on complex family violence restraining order and other family violence matters, provision of high level advice and support with internal and external stakeholders, interpretation and analysis of complex data and reports, represent LAWA on various committees and make law reform and other government submissions on matters involving family violence.
The successful candidate will have significant legal experience and experience working with clients who have experienced family violence. They will also have an advanced understanding of family violence issues and dynamics, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
