12 month appointment pool
We are establishing an appointment pool for vacancies that arise up to 12 months from the first appointment.
Appointments may be made on a full-time, part-time, casual, permanent or fixed-term contract basis with possible further term and and/or permanency.
Suitable candidates will be placed in the appointment pool from which opportunities may be offered as vacancies arise. Candidates may also be considered for similar positions within South Metropolitan TAFE as they arise during the life of the pool. If the appointment pool is exhausted prior to the pool expiry date, we reserve the right to supplement the pool through further advertising.

About the role
The lecturer's primary role is to teach, facilitate learning, assess and mentor students in accordance with relevant curriculum and/or training package requirements. Lecturers also undertake Professional Activities (PA) and Activities Related to Delivery (ARD).
In order to maintain quality educational services, lecturers are required to keep abreast of technological and other developments in their field through professional development to provide up-to-date information and advice to the College and industry, where appropriate.
To be successful in this role you will have an industry recognised qualification in Sports Turf Management, with experience setting up and maintaining high quality turf; this will include fine turf surfaces as well as cool and warm season management. Candidates need to demonstrate management experience at team leader or superintendent level and a minimum of 7 years in industry.
SM TAFE prefers lecturers to hold the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116, or TAE40110 and the additional skill sets referred to in Schedule 1, Item 2 of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015. Applicants who do not yet hold the minimum required VET credentials are still eligible to apply, however SM TAFE may require the recommended candidate to obtain Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 prior to appointment, irrespective of holding other adult education qualifications.
