What will your typical day look like?
The Director Regional Development provides leadership and management of regional strategies and operations to deliver State Government programs and projects to achieve regional development outcomes. The South West Development Commission works in close partnership with government bodies, industry, business and community groups to ensure the region develops in a positive and sustainable way.

You will provide effective consultative and collaborative working relationships and networks with key stakeholders across the public and private sectors on matters related to investment and development of the South West region.
You will have demonstrated extensive experience in regional development including planning and implementing complex projects within a strategic framework, involving the private and government sectors.

Am I eligible to apply?
To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia. To be eligible for a fixed term or a casual appointment you must have documentary you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period as part of your application.
You will be required to provide a current National Police Certificate (police clearance) before commencing employment.
Special Requirements for this position:
- A current and valid Western Australian C (car) class driver's licence or equivalent is required (if not currently held, must be acquired prior to commencement at applicant's expense).

- Occasional travel to and from metropolitan and regional offices may be required.
- The contract of employment specifies terms and conditions relating to this position.
This pool will be valid for a period of twelve (12) months following finalisation of the process and may be used to fill fixed term, full time opportunities that may arise in this period. Please note, being appointed to the pool does not guarantee you placement to a position.
