The Public Transport Authority’s (PTA) vision is to be a leader in providing world-class public transport services. PTA’s urban passenger rail service has been rated best overall out of five Australian capital city passenger rail systems by Canstar Blue year-on-year since 2011. The rolling stock team is growing and developing its capabilities to manage PTA’s current and future rolling stock assets. We aspire to industry best practice in our engineering and management activities and foster a collaborative and high performing team environment.
The Role
The successful applicant will play a key role in providing electrical engineering support with respect to the acquisition, modification and maintenance of the Public Transport Authority’s (PTA) rollingstock assets (diesel and electric). In addition, this role will use their electrical engineering expertise to assist with management of outsourced rollingstock maintenance contracts.
About you
To be successful in the role, you will need to have:
- Experience in rollingstock or heavy mobile equipment engineering or maintenance is desirable.
- Possession of a relevant engineering qualification (electrical / mechatronics) suitable for admission as a member of the Institute of Engineers (Australia) in the category of Professional Engineer (MIEAust)
- Demonstrated understanding of contract and project management is required.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-developed conceptual, analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills.
There is currently one (1) full time permanent position available for immediate start.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur for up to 12 months.
