Appointment Pool
Our teachers receive a Country Teaching Program (CTP) allowance of up to $5000pa in addition to their usual salary. Fixed Term employees are eligible for permanency when they have worked continuously at a CTP school for 2 years.
Newton Moore Senior High School (SHS) is establishing a pool of Language Teachers, for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.
Suitable applicants will ideally be passionate teachers of either Japanese, Indonesian, or Noongar and be prepared to teach in other learning areas.

It is highly desirable that the suitable applicants develop a supportive and positive classroom environment, possess effective interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively in a team environment. You will provide an innovative teaching and learning program which engages and motivates students.

We aim to work collaboratively with our intake Primary schools to build a seamless approach to learning language other than English, and to ensure that every child has the opportunity to choose languages that interest them.
Every teacher at Newton Moore SHS has a role in implementing our vision of strong and respectful relationships and effective curriculum delivery. Suitable applicants should have experience in teaching Languages in your specialist language area. You ideally should also possess a sound understanding of the developmental needs of students at all phases of the Western Australian Curriculum and be skilled in differentiating the curriculum to meet the academic needs of all language students.

Newton Moore SHS is located in Bunbury, 175kms south of Perth. We have a strong commitment to offering innovative and best practice educational programs. The school delivers two Department of Education Approved Specialist Academic Programs: Science Horizons and Engineering Specialist. Newton Moore SHS is also Teacher Development School (TDS) for secondary science and a Lead Language School and supports with training and assisting staff across the South West. The school is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) for Certificate II courses in Aquaculture and Workplace Skills.
Newton Moore SHS also provides enrichment through the following programs: Moore Academy of Sport and Health (MASH), Follow the Dream, Clontarf Football Academy, Stars Foundation and CALM Cadets.

Eligibility
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). Training
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
