What will your typical day look like?
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and passionate leader, with an optimistic can-do attitude to join the South West Development Commission (SWDC) as a Principal Project Officer, supported by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD). There is currently one position available in Bunbury for immediate filling until 30 June 2023, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. We are seeking to establish a pool of suitable candidates for future opportunities that may arise within a 12-month period.
This is a key role in the delivery of the AMTECH project to support the government’s policy objectives for Bunbury, a key deliverable of the SWDC’s 2021-2023 strategic plan. You will have the opportunity to drive the investigation of a feasibility study to establish an advanced manufacturing and technology hub in the Bunbury Geographe region.
Day to day, some of your key responsibilities will include;
- Developing project timelines to assist with the development and implementation of project and contract management strategies
- Organising and managing meetings to plan and coordinate high level projects
- Assisting key stakeholders with matters relating to procurement, and grant funding provisions
- Provide innovative solutions to continue driving the project forward
- Utilising tools and processes to develop the AMTECH project such as: Microsoft Project, Stakeholder Management Plans, Risk Assessment and Communication Plans

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.
The successful candidate will have previous complex project management experience to help deliver the outcomes of the AMTECH project. You will have worked in a government environment and/or have an understanding of processes and policies that govern procurement and project management. You are a team player, with the ability to deliver a high level of productivity within the scope of project delivery.
You have proven high level stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate outcomes. Additionally, the successful candidate will have excellent writing skills, and be a highly organised individual to effectively coordinate and consult on all aspects of project management.

This pool will be valid for a period of twelve (12) months following finalisation of the process and may be used to fill permanent and fixed term, full time and part time opportunities that may arise in this period.
