WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is seeking a Consultant - Psychiatrist in the Goldfields Region (Kalgoorlie Community Mental Health). This is a Fixed Term Full Time appointment for 5 years, with the possibility of extension(s).
We are seeking to appoint a Consultant - Psychiatrist for Kalgoorlie Community Mental Health in the Goldfields Region. In this role you will be responsible for the provision of clinical assessment and psychiatric treatment for adults in a community mental health setting in the Goldfields region. As a member of the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for the clinical management of adult patients of the Goldfields Mental Health Service. You will provide clinical leadership, advice, consultation, liaison and support to health care professionals, other providers and care agencies, and to consumers and carers throughout the Goldfields Mental Health Service Region. You will also be required to examine, assess, diagnose and treat both community based clients and inpatients within the Goldfields Mental Health Service region, as required in agreement with the Clinical Director and Regional Manager Mental Health.

The salary as per WA Health System Medical Practitioners AMA Industrial Agreement 2016:
Shown as Fixed Term Full time (80 hours per fortnight).
MP Year 1-9 $357,247 - $454,881 p.a.
*Includes Arrangement A base salary $296,757—$385,515 p.a., 10% employer contributed superannuation and professional development allowance $30,814.a. In addition (in line with operational requirements) and access to salary packaging up to $19,000 p.a., professional development opportunities and study leave/assistance, flexible leave arrangements
About the Region
The Goldfields-Esperance region is located in the south-eastern corner of Western Australia and is the largest region in the state with a land area of 771,276 square kilometres. The region is three times the size of the state of Victoria and just under a third of Western Australia's total land mass. How to Apply
Suitable candidates must be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA), Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, or equivalent. Have demonstrated clinical skills with extensive clinical experience in acute mental health using a shared care model of service with the ability to manage people, including leadership and motivation skills. Sound knowledge of psychological theories, models and practice, including knowledge of/and experience in biological and psychotherapeutic interventions. Must have effective communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills within a multidisciplinary service with highly developed report writing and policy formulation skills and analytical ability.
