The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated person to be part of a small team that will enhance the Department’s capability and capacity to deliver meaningful outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This role will coordinate a consistent approach to work across the Department in support of Aboriginal outcomes.

The role is responsible for supporting and growing our engagement and contribution to broader Government agendas and supporting staff in liaising and partnering with our Aboriginal stakeholders.

This opportunity is for one year with possibility of extension and / or permanency.

About you

As a respected and engaged individual you will be a first point of contact for Aboriginal affairs correspondence and initiatives. The strong relationships you build with Aboriginal people and stakeholder groups will be pivotal to support the Department in delivering sustainable, healthy WA land, water, and environment.

You will contribute to the development and coordination of meeting, agendas, minutes and action tracking for advisory and working groups. You will be responsible in the planning, organising and undertaking of projects directly related to Aboriginal Engagement as well as track and report on work led by others in relation to Aboriginal Advancement.
