The Opportunity.
We are looking for an enthusiastic leader to manage scientific programs of farming systems research and industry innovation to support the economic development of the Grains and Livestock industries in the dryland regions of Western Australia.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to: influence primary industry and regional development through consultation with leading growers, regional and industry stakeholders; provide advice on policy and significant industry, regional and scientific matters relating to dryland farming systems research and development; and lead the development of new initiatives including preparation of research and development proposals to relevant funding bodies.

The Ideal Candidate.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Manager Intelligence and Adoption to support the economic development of the Grains and Livestock Industries in the dryland regions of Western Australia.
The successful applicant will be required to build ongoing relationships with senior levels within the industry bodies, funding organisations, regional stakeholders and government organisations across Australia. You will also be responsible for advising and consulting on policy, and industry and scientific matters related to dryland farming systems research and development.

To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia. To be eligible for a fixed term or a casual appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period of the contract and this is required as part of your application.
Subject to appointment, successful applicants will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy before commencing employment;
- obtain and provide a current National Police Certificate (police clearance) before commencing employment;
- Bachelor degree in Agricultural Science, Science or an approved equivalent.
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
This process may be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout the department. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, the panel may select another suitable applicant from this selection process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from approval of the initial recruitment decision.
