The Roles
The PTA is seeking to establish a pool of qualified Civil Engineers at Level 5 and Level 6 to provide Civil Engineering support and expertise to the Network and Infrastructure Division, including various METRONET and major infrastructure projects. We have a range of engineering positions to fill on a permanent and fixed term, full time basis.
To be considered for these positions you will be experienced in asset management of Civil Infrastructures, (culverts, retaining walls and the bridges etc.),and the design of drainage and civil infrastructures.
Our Civil Engineers (Level 5) provides engineering support for all asset management aspects including maintenance, design, construction, upgrades and modifications of the branch assets; project manages third party access to the PTA’s rail network and safeguards PTA assets; contributing to the overall performance, reliability and all other associated activities in accordance with PTA and regulatory requirements
Our Senior Civil Engineers (Level 6) provides engineering support and expertise for all asset management aspects including maintenance, design, construction, upgrades and modifications of the branch assets; project manages third party access to the PTA’s rail network and safeguards PTA assets; contributing to the overall performance, reliability and all other associated activities in accordance with PTA and regulatory requirements.
All applicants are also required to be in possession of a Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent recognised by the Institute of Engineers Australia. In addition, applicants are required to have substantial proven experience in providing civil engineering expertise and knowledge in the planning, design and delivery of maintenance and/or construction works in an operational asset intensive environment. You will also need to have well-developed communication, experience in providing leadership plus problem solving skills.

Pool
This is a pool recruitment process where suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which permanent full time appointments will be made within the next 12 months. Offers may be made on a permanent or fixed term basis with possible extensions and/or permanency.
