Are you a passionate and experienced Education Support leader with strong pedagogical knowledge?
Byford Secondary College (BSC) is seeking a committed and knowledgeable Program Coordinator – Education Support to join the college’s leadership team. Working in partnership with the school’s executive team, the Program Manager – Education Support will be pivotal in providing curriculum and student services leadership to all staff, students and families within our college’s integrated facility. Resource management through budgeting, applying for DRS funding and ongoing data collection are also integral to this position.
The Program Manager will be a skilled leader with a strong focus on ensuring a safe and appropriate learning environment. They will be experienced in supporting teachers and education assistants to deliver evidence-based, best practice programs to enhance student outcomes from entry in Year 7 through to Year 12, as they transition into the workplace or further study.
The successful applicant will ideally have a sound understanding and application of Courses of Study and Endorsed programs for students with disability. This role will also focus on the development of the Year 10 to 12 program, including work readiness and workplace learning, life skills, personal development and goal setting, community access, Certificate and Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN) courses. The ability to form partnerships within the local community and initiate programs will be critical to this role in developing transitional opportunities for our students.
We are seeking candidates who will be motivated, practical, hardworking and innovative; they will possess outstanding interpersonal skills with a history of mentoring education support teachers in both pedagogy and Positive Behaviour Support. It is highly desirable they can display their knowledge and experience of working with students with a wide range of physical, medical, cognitive and behavioural needs in educational and social settings. Students at Byford Secondary College also engage in a Hydrotherapy program, and experience in this area is also highly desirable.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage physical and financial resources.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
