Conditions
We are seeking 1 (one) full-time permanent Assistant Curator, History – Specified Calling Level 1 as well as establishing a pool for Assistant Curator, History – Specified Calling Level 1.
This pool will run for a period of 18 months from the date after the review period closes. Applicants deemed suitable will be placed into a pool where appointments may be considered for similar vacancies for full-time, part-time, fixed term or permanency.
A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.
You must possess a degree in Australian History or closely related field as well as primary research skills. An honours degree would be an advantage.
You must also possess a current ‘C’ Class driver’s licence or equivalent.
Location
This position is located at the Museum’s Collections and Research Centre at 49 Kew Street, Welshpool.
Job Description
As the Assistant Curator, History you will be required to:
- Assist with the collection, research, documentation and management of the History department’s collections, including the implementation of collecting projects.
- Assist with the development of public programs, including exhibitions in multi-disciplinary teams
- Engage with and respond to the public through public enquiries, and other public programs.
