The Metropolitan Cemeteries Board (MCB) is recruiting for a pool of Memorial Sales Consultants to join our Client Services Division, based at any of our four main cemetery sites (Karrakatta, Pinnaroo, Fremantle or Rockingham). We may be offering a variety of opportunities - full time, part time and fixed term contracts (with the possibility of an extension or permanency) in accordance with business requirements.
ABOUT THE JOB
This job is a genuinely unique sales and customer service role.
As an MCB employee, you will be focused on providing a high level of customer service in line with the MCB’s values of Compassion, Respect, Understanding and Integrity.
You will need to have great listening skills to understand our client’s needs and to sensitively help them purchase the right products (cremation memorial, burial plot, mausoleum crypt or urn) to commemorate their loved one.
You will spend time inside a consulting room and also outside in our beautiful cemetery grounds as you consult with families and show them options that meet their needs. You will also assist families designing their memorial plaques through a range of software products that are unique to the cemetery industry.
You will quickly develop a good working knowledge of the MCB's services, policies and procedures and be able to interpret and apply the relevant legislation. You will be well supported with training in an outstanding and customer focussed team environment.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR - WORK RELATED REQUIREMENTS
The successful applicant will have:
Essential
- Demonstrated ability to exercise appropriate levels of initiative and to work efficiently and accurately in an environment of competing priorities without direct supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately process paperwork, receipting, ordering, and managing sales in a high volume administration environment.
- Experience in the promotion and sale of products and services.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate sensitively with people in handling complex situations.
- Demonstrated skills in the use of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) IT business system to process transactions and manage records, Microsoft Office general software, internet and email.
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies and procedures.
- Commitment to personal integrity, ethical decision making and MCB’s Values of Respect, Understanding, Compassion and Integrity.
Desirable
- Understanding of and experience in working in an environment requiring a balance between commercial and community obligations.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Dynamics 365, and graphic design software or custom design software.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
The recommended applicant will be required to provide a current National Police Clearance prior to appointment that is less than six months old.
