We are looking for an experienced Aboriginal engagement professional, with a comprehensive understanding of organisational cultural governance, and the diversity of Aboriginal families and communities, to work with WACHS to guide us in delivering focussed and accessible services for those who need it most.
- Regional Executive role
- Champion for leading and coordinating WACHS goals and aspirations to close the gap in Indigenous Health disadvantage
- Key player in community relationship building and influencing health outcomes for Aboriginal people

Position Profile: Supported by a network of Regional Aboriginal Health Consultants across the Regions, this is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to lead the development, implementation and evaluation of the Region’s Aboriginal Health projects, programs and services to close the gap in Indigenous Health disadvantage in accordance with WA Health and WA Country Health Service policies and strategic directions.
This is an active executive role in the organisation, providing guidance on a broad range of areas including partnerships and capacity building, cultural maintenance and Aboriginal workforce development.
We are seeking applications from candidates genuinely interested in tackling the challenges unique to the region and who want to be a part of a team that is making real change in the Pilbara.
Key priorities for the role include:
- Ensuring cultural governance and cultural security of our health service delivery
- Providing ongoing support to stakeholders, including managers, as well as establishing and maintaining external relationships
- Building cultural awareness and understanding across our teams
- Developing an Aboriginal Employment Program, including ongoing support to new and existing Aboriginal Staff and pathways for Aboriginal employment, and coordinating its implementation
