About you
We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Clinical Nurse who has the ability to provide leadership, identify and develop strategies to resolve problems including negotiation and conflict resolution in the area of speciality. You will have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work individually and within a team. As a leader, you will demonstrate well developed knowledge and application of human resource principles and application of quality improvement initiatives in nursing.
You will be eligible for registration in the category of Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
About the role
The Clinical Nurse Specialist liaises with external agencies and identifies the nature and appropriateness of referrals to Next Step’s inpatient withdrawal unit, set priorities for management and coordinates admissions. This position provides clinical advice, consultancy, supervision and leadership to nursing staff within the Inpatient Withdrawal Unit. Within this role, the specialist plans, coordinates and supports quality improvement activities and programs within Next Step’s clinical services. This is a Permanent Full Time position working Monday to Friday; one week early shift and one week late shift or day shifts when required due to operational needs.
In undertaking the role of this position, the occupant will need to recognise that there is a commitment to focussing on the needs of the individual, their families, carers or advocates working in partnership for better mental health outcomes.
