About the role
This open pool recruitment process is on offer to professionals with a Masters Degree in Clinical/Counselling/Forensic Psychology or Social Work. The position provides supervision to staff, and conducts assessment/treatment of complex cases.
It resolves/addresses complex clinical issues, provides supervision of assessment, treatment, group delivery and report preparation. Intervention programs are delivered in both prison and community based settings, and at various sites across Western Australia.
If you are suitable for this position you will be placed in a Pool from which appointments may be made for similar vacancies across the Department of Justice.
Eligibility
An accredited qualification in Psychology and general registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or an approved Social Work qualification and full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector it is essential that you are an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia. To be eligible for a fixed term appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the duration of the contract.
All employees are required to undergo employment screening, which includes a National Criminal History Check and other checks that may be relevant to the position requirements.

Pool Recruitment
The Department of Justice uses recruitment pools to build a bank of talent for future opportunities. When part of a pool you may be offered a permanent or temporary position, however an appointment is not guaranteed.
This pool will be open for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of first appointment. Permanent and fixed-term appointments may be offered on a full-time and part-time basis as vacancies arise.
