Appointment Pool
Rossmoyne Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Associate Principals for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2021. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year, up to the end of Term 4, 2021.
Who are we looking for?
Rossmoyne Senior High School (SHS) is seeking strategic, inspiring and innovative leaders to be considered for permanent and fixed term appointments to the position of Associate Principal.
We are looking for talented, experienced leaders who possess a range of skills and understandings within an Associate Principal role. As an educator of excellence, you will exhibit initiative and have problem solving capacity to develop solutions which will cater for the wide variety of demands in our large, complex school. While we are interested in considering your specific areas of expertise, your motivation, energy and flexibility will enable you to adapt to the leadership structure currently being considered to future proof our school. You will work as part of a high performing team to apply and adapt your skills, knowledge and understandings to undertake the identified areas of responsibility. Your skills and experience will enable you to lead activities within Year 7 to 12 policy, process and procedure and complement other Associate Principal roles in the school.
Suitable applicants will have outstanding communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills and be committed to achieving exceptional educational outcomes for all students. These skills will enable you to engage in effective and positive interactions to develop and maintain strong relationships with staff, students and the community.
About the role
This is an exciting time to be joining Rossmoyne SHS. Aligned to the development of the 2021-2025 Business Plan, suitable applicants will be directly involved in strategically exploring the most suitable structure and delineation of responsibilities to future proof and support the demands of our increasing school size.
Rossmoyne Associate Principals work collaboratively within a framework of negotiated areas of responsibility. Suitable applicants will work closely with the Principal as part of the school’s executive team to provide educational leadership, innovation, strategic planning and promotion of the school’s vision, mission and values in the school community.
To be suitable in the role you will be highly motivated, energetic and possess the qualities needed to bring people together, identify opportunities and establish new initiatives. Suitable applicants will possess effective communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop and maintain positive partnerships and collaborate effectively with others. Rossmoyne Senior High School is a SEQTA school. An understanding of SEQTA would be considered advantageous.
Your forward thinking and strategic planning skills will enable you to forecast the school’s needs and priorities, to effectively develop and implement suitable strategies that maintain our reputation as one of Western Australia’s leading schools. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
