Main Roads Western Australia is offering our Engineering Graduate Program to enthusiastic, invested and courageous students who are interested in the design and delivery of electrical and Intelligent Transport Systems projects across Western Australia. The Engineering Graduate program is available for individuals who have completed their Bachelor Degree of Electrical or Electronic Engineering the within the last two years.
Our three-year rotational program across different areas of Main Roads will allow you to have hands on participation in high profile electrical engineering projects across the State including electrical asset management, development, design, delivery and operations. Our program offers an attractive remuneration package, flexible working arrangements and Health & Wellbeing program.

We are looking for recent electrical engineering graduates who have a thirst to identify and help solve complex issues related to Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and electrical delivery. You are not afraid of being stuck into the detail of electrical engineering challenges and passionate about developing our State’s road transport infrastructure, motivated by making a difference. At Main Roads we go places, you can too.
Along with a training program to develop you professionally and personally, you’ll learn on-the job guided by your supervisor and mentors, plus there’s a network of support that will help you feel like a valued member of the team.

- A comprehensive CV
- A copy of your completed Bachelor Degree of Electrical or Electronic Engineering within the last two (2) years, as well as your academic transcript.
- A cover letter addressing the following questions in no more than two (2) pages:
- What is your motivation to work with Main Roads?
- Describe how you would embrace new challenges and make a difference in electrical engineering in a State based road agency?
- What makes you a good candidate for a Graduate Engineer position? Draw on your knowledge and experience developed through studies, part time work or vacation work to demonstrate your problem solving ability, and working together in teams to achieve a common goal.
You will also need to provide us with a copy of your ‘C’ class Drivers licence and proof of Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency. If you have studied outside of Australia, we require your letter from Engineers Australia, confirming your degree is recognised as an Australian equivalent. Relocation support will not be provided for this position.
If you are successful, you will be required to complete a pre-employment medical.
