Graduate Engineer - Network Operations (Civil)
Our vision, your career.
People need to get to work, home and everywhere in between and businesses rely on our roads. With a rich history dating back to 1926 and an exciting future ahead, Main Roads Western Australia is the WA State Government agency responsible for managing the State's road network safely, connecting people and places. Main Roads is not just about roads. It’s about people.
Main Roads Western Australia is offering our Engineering Graduate Program (Road Network Operations) to enthusiastic, invested and courageous students who are interested in a career in managing the performance of Perth’s road network. The Engineering Graduate program is available for individuals who have completed their Bachelor Degree of Civil Engineering within the last two years.
You will have the opportunity to work from our world-class Road Network Operations Centre (RNOC), which uses state of the art technology to optimise road network safety, performance and congestion management. You will have the opportunity to learn and use this technology to make a difference on Perth’s road network.
The future you get is the one you create.
We are looking for highly motivated students who have a thirst to tackle issues, who are not afraid of a challenge. You are passionate about optimising our State’s road network in an innovative manner and are motivated to make a difference. Proactive students who are enthusiastic about their future in Road Network Operations, and making a difference on people’s journeys are encouraged to apply.
Our three-year rotational program across different areas of road network operations, traffic modelling, road network analysis, and road network performance management, will see you making an impact on people’s journeys on a day-to-day basis. Through data analysis and traffic modelling, you will contribute to strategies that will optimise the existing road network.
Get ready to apply. It’s simple.
Applying is simple, straightforward and free from aptitude testing. As a community focused organisation, we value transparency and an honest conversation.
Apply online and submit the following documentation:
- A comprehensive CV
- A copy of your completed Bachelor Degree of Civil Engineering within the last two (2) years; as well as your academic transcript.
- A cover letter addressing the following questions in no more than two (2) pages:
- Motivation to work with Main Roads’ Network Operations Directorate and make an impact on people’s journeys on our roads on a day-to-day basis
- Keen interest in learning and working with network and modelling data
- Building relationships with stakeholders and working together in teams
You will also need to provide us with a copy of your ‘C’ class Drivers licence and proof of Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency. If you have studied outside of Australia, we require your letter from Engineers Australia, confirming your degree is recognised as an Australian equivalent. Relocation support will not be provided for this position.
If you are successful, you will be required to complete a pre-employment medical.
