The Graduate Program Opportunity
The Treasury Graduate Program is a structured learning and development program that runs for 18 months with three rotations. During each of your rotations, you will develop a broad overview and knowledge of the diverse areas of Treasury, be exposed to high profile State projects, build a range of professional networks with key stakeholders and engage in further learning and development.
As a Graduate Officer, you will perform challenging and interesting work and deal with a wide range of issues and stakeholders within government and across various industries with a potential rotation to the Western Australian Treasury Corporation.

- Training and development opportunities including the Public Sector Graduate Development Program and Under Treasurer’s Educational Development Program;
- Exposure to a variety of Treasury business units and high profile Government projects;
- Extensive support network comprising supervisors, colleagues and a buddy as part of the Treasury’s Young Professionals Program;
- Leadership development opportunities including Executive and Director Shadowing; and

The Program seeks graduates from diverse backgrounds that can demonstrate the following:
- Alignment with the capabilities and behaviours of a Graduate Officer as per the attached Level 3 Capability Framework as well as Treasury’s values of innovative thinking, committed people and working collaboratively.
- Successful completion of a recent tertiary qualification (maximum 3 years since graduation) with a high academic achievement (70% and above) with a minimum of an undergraduate degree from all disciplines particularly Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law, Business/Commerce, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Political Science, Public Policy and Actuarial Studies. If the tertiary qualification is not completed, it must be completed by December 2020.
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
Currently there are up to 8 full-time positions available for immediate filling. Other suitable applicants will be placed in an appointment pool. This pool will run for a period of 12 months and may be used to fill other similar fixed term and permanent vacancies. Please note that being placed in the pool does not guarantee your placement in a position.
