Forensic audits will expand the Office of the Auditor General for Western Australia’s role to provide Parliament and the community with more detailed information and analysis of targeted aspects of public sector financial management and probity, including fraud risk management, identifying issues and recommending areas requiring improvement when necessary.
The Office of the Auditor General is an independent agency reporting directly to Parliament on public sector accountability and performance. We have an Australia-wide reputation for excellence and are a key source of independent and objective information for Parliament and the community.
Forensic audits will use data matching and analytics and undertake detailed examinations that provide Parliament with information about government entity financial practice, probity and fraud resilience in compliance with legislation, public sector policies and accepted good practice.
Directors
Directors independently lead, determine and manage caseload progress of investigations into fraud, waste or abuse committed by public sector employees. They will establish strategic and operational relationships; and deliver quality outcomes that are soundly based, balanced and satisfy evidential requirements, in a deadline driven environment.
Assistant Directors:
Assistant Directors independently undertake investigations of fraud, waste or abuse committed by public sector employees, often in collaboration with other integrity or enforcement agencies. They provide advice and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships; and manage their caseload to finalisation and reporting.
We have a number of full time fixed-term positions, with the possibility of extension or permanency, available for immediate filling. Offers will be made based on competitive suitability for roles.
This selection process may also be used to appoint to similar vacancies that occur in the Office within the next 6 months.
