Leonora District High School (DHS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated and hardworking Primary or Secondary Teacher to join their friendly team in the Big Picture Education Secondary program that has been developed within the school.
The school has a supportive and positive culture, with innovative programs such as two-way science and Big Picture Education. The suitable applicant will be student and relationship focused, highly motivated, innovative and able to work effectively in a team environment, as well as demonstrating an engaging and energetic teaching style. Leonora DHS is situated in Leonora, a town in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, located approximately 833 kilometres northeast of the state capital, Perth, and 237 kilometres north of the city of Kalgoorlie. The school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Staff, parents and the wider community came together to create a shared vision for the school. Through a process where every voice was heard, consensus was reached on a description of the school we want for our students. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
