The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) currently has several exciting opportunities for people who are passionate about agriculture and livestock production in the Kimberley and Pilbara regions.
The opportunities we have available at this time are:
One (1) permanent full time appointment role as the Director of Northern Agricultural Development (Level 8, $134, 296 - $145,609 pa, Public Sector CSA Agreements 2019) available for immediate filling.
If you want to play a vital role in the implementation of the State Government’s Northern Agricultural Development Initiatives across the Kimberley and Pilbara regions, including:
- Stakeholder engagement across the DPIRD’s Northern primary industries development portfolio,
- Leadership and oversight of northern beef industry development
- Overseeing the implementation of the Ord Expansion project, Fitzroy Valley management plan, and Transforming Agriculture in the Pilbara initiatives
- Government focal point to support local growers and industry in establishing a Cotton industry in the East Kimberley.
- Representing the agency at a senior level to support primary industries development associated with the Developing Northern Australia agenda, and
- Contributing as a member of DPIRD’s Northern Regional Leadership Network while leading and co-ordinating across DPIRD functions
Then we want you to apply for the Director of Northern Agricultural Development, which is to be based in the Kimberley. The preference is for the position to be located in Kununurra, but consideration will be given to locating the position in Broome.
Three (3) opportunities as a Development Officer (Specified Callings Level 1, $68,165 - $ 92,345pa, Public Sector CSA Agreements 2019) available on a variety of permanent, fixed term, full time and part time basis.
If you want to play a pivotal role in the Northern Beef Development project across the Kimberleyand Pilbara regions while also contributing to the economic development of the agri-food industry by:
- Preparing and disseminating results of research to assist producers and the broader industry to improve productivity and industry resilience,
- Assisting in the development and application of economic and farm business management methodologies,
- Supporting industry development and market intelligence via the development of strong networks across the northern beef industry, and
- Assisting in the development of new initiatives including the development of project proposals to relevant funding bodies.
Then we want you to apply for one of the three Development Officer positions, with positions being available in Broome, Port Hedland, Karratha and Kununurra.
All positions attract regional allowances, dependant on location and GROH housing may be available.
