Legal Aid WA seeks candidates interested in applying for entry into an Administration / Legal Support Officer Pool to fill anticipated vacancies within our Criminal Law Division over the next twelve months.
About the role
Working within the Criminal Law Division this role comprises a mixture of administrative, secretarial and office management responsibilities. This will include attending the Magistrates Court, liaising with court welfare and other court officers, taking legal aid applications, data entry, providing information to clients and booking appointments to see a solicitor.

Ideally you will have:
- Experience working as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail

The Administration Officer / Paralegal JDF is being used to fill the advertised role. This role is primarily administrative, with minimal paralegal duties.

For level 1 appointment, you will need to address:
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy and thoroughness
- Competent keyboard and computer skills, with experience in using databases
- Outcome and service focussed
For level 2 appointment, you will need to address all of the above, in addition to:
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal assertively and courteously with difficult or aggressive clients in a pressurised environment

Pool conditions
As this is a pool, vacancies will be offered on a full-time or part-time permanent or fixed-term basis.
This selection process may also be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout our organisation that arise within the term of the pool.
It is important to note that appointment to the pool is not a guarantee that you will be offered a term of employment.
