Legal Aid WA is seeking applications from candidates who wish to pursue careers in the paralegal field for entry into an Administration Officer/Paralegal Pool for Permanent and Fixed Term vacancies that may arise during the next 12 months.
About the role
As an Administration Officer/Paralegal you will be primarily interacting with customers at their first point of contact with Legal Aid WA, both in person and via the Information Line/online chat. This is where your ability to deal with customers with complex legal and social needs will be most valued. You will be required to discern customers legal and social issues and make the appropriate referrals. Duties will also include data entry, booking appointments, taking and entering legal aid applications and other administrative duties.
About you
Ideally you will have:
- a background in customer service
- experience working as part of and the ability to contribute positively to a small team
- call centre experience or online chat (ideal but not essential)
- the ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Pool conditions
As this is a pool, vacancies will be offered on a full-time or part-time permanent or fixed-term basis.
This selection process may also be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout our organisation that arise within the term of the pool.
It is important to note that appointment to the pool is not a guarantee that you will be offered a term of employment.
