Legal Aid WA seeks candidates interested in applying for entry into a Paralegal Pool for positions which may become available during the next 12 months within our Client Services Division. We are looking for people with a desire to assist and empower persons in need.
About the role
As a Paralegal in the Client Services Division you will have the opportunity to undertake a range of duties across the Division including the assessment of applications for legal aid, intake and triage of clients, drafting urgent court documents and providing information and legal advice to clients under supervision.
About you
The ideal candidates will have;
- experience working with complex clients with an ability to discern legal and non-legal matters from diverse client issues;
- experience working as part of and the ability to contribute positively to a small team;
- highly developed communication skills;
- the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment;
- high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
- good working knowledge of the court processes, Legal Aid services and other service providers is desirable.

Pool conditions
As this is a pool, vacancies will be offered on a full-time or part-time permanent or fixed-term basis.
This selection process may also be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout our organisation that arise within the term of the pool.
It is important to note that appointment to the pool is not a guarantee that you will be offered a term of employment.
