If so, the 2020 Public Sector Commission’s Aboriginal Traineeship Program (ATP) will be of interest to you.
The Public Sector Commission is looking for highly talented and motivated applicants to participate in our 12-month traineeship program (18 months part-time) in regional WA or the metropolitan area. The Program provides Aboriginal Australians with knowledge, necessary skills, and a pathway to a career in the WA public sector. The Public Sector delivers an extensive range of services to the Western Australian community, and as a trainee, you can get an insight into a wide range of exciting professions to choose a career path of interest to you.
You will work in a team environment undertaking a range of administrative duties. You will learn and be involved in various tasks including reception duties, supporting projects and using computers, technology and office equipment, which will develop your general skills for a public service career.
On successful completion of the traineeship, you will attain a nationally recognised Certificate III in Government (Public Administration) qualification, as well as the possibility of further employment opportunities.
Successful candidates will need to be available to commence employment in January 2020.
To be eligible for a traineeship:
- be Aboriginal Australian and / or Torres Strait Islander
- be 24 years of age or under
- have achieved a minimum completion of year 10 or equivalent
- be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- be committed to working full time for 12 months in an office environment within a public sector agency, or 18 months in a part time arrangement (minimum 20 hours worked per week).
You will also require a current satisfactory National Police Certificate before appointment.
