ABOUT THE ROLE
The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) is a dynamic agency and is committed to supporting Western Australia’s community, economy and environment by managing and regulating the state’s environment and water resources.
The Department is seeking a talented individual for a permanent full-time opportunity as Policy Officer – Levy in the Waste Policy Branch.
As Policy Officer – Levy you will work as part of a small team that administers the State’s waste levy. The team is responsible for developing and applying waste levy guidance and policy and coordinating the processing of waste levy returns, exemption applications and financial assurances.
This position also provides advice to internal and external stakeholders, assists in the development of written guidance material and records and analyses data using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in understanding and applying complex legislation and policy, good communication skills and the ability to work within and across work teams.
