The position
In this role you will be responsible for investigating complex complaint matters arising within the property sector.
You will investigate complex complaints including fidelity guarantee claims and possess a high level of analytical skills with the capability to draw on information from a range of sources, to analyse what information is important to investigate complaints. You will also have the ability to prepare high quality factual material in forms of reports and investigation reports in line with departmental standards containing sustainable recommendations.
During an investigation, the Senior Investigations Officer will compile witness statements, use compulsory investigative powers, draft and execute search warrants and conduct voluntary and compulsory records of interview with persons of interest and witnesses. The Senior Investigations Officer also prepares concise and accurate investigation reports based on the findings of investigations. At the conclusion of an investigation or assessment, the Senior Investigations Officer will be required to prepare a report in all cases and on occasion a brief of evidence to be submitted for fidelity claims assessment, criminal prosecutions and/or disciplinary proceedings to the State Administrative Tribunal, Magistrates Court or Supreme Court or to the Chief Executive Officer or Commissioner for Consumer Protection.

Flexibility to travel within the state is also required.
What do you require to successfully undertake the role?
- Certificate IV in Government (Investigations) or equivalent qualification or considerable relevant investigative experience.
- Considerable experience and proven skills in preparing and presenting a number of briefs of evidence that have been successful in criminal, disciplinary or civil proceedings before Courts or tribunals or fidelity claims assessments.
- Experience in locating, interpreting and analysing legislation to identify non-compliance.
A ‘C’ class drivers licence is required to undertake this role.
