Position Profile
We currently have one (1) fixed term full- time (1 FTE) appointment available up to November 2020 with the possibility of extension.
This process may be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout the department. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, the panel may select another suitable applicant from this selection process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from approval of the initial recruitment decision.
The role of the Senior Intelligence Analyst is to lead and manage the intelligence team in the delivery of effective and efficient research and analysis activities relating to emerging non-compliance trends, and complex investigations. The position also supports, maintains and implements intelligence management methodologies and IT systems.
Working in a newly formed Directorate, the succesfull applicant will be responsible for developing solutions focused business practices and introducing new innovations and efficiencies to the Intelligence Section.
Some of the key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leading and managing the day to day operations of the Intelligence team.
- Manages human, technological, physical and other resources to meet organisational outcomes.
- Maintaining intelligence data systems and ensuring the integrity of system data.
- Coordinating complex research and analysis to develop, implement and meet operational needs of the team.
- Identifing complex compliance trends, crime patterns and organisational targets.
- Plans, generates and disseminates operational intelligence briefings and reports.
- Developing and maintaining good intelligence across government agencies, ensuring that all stakeholders are able to contribute effectively into the intelligence network.
- Providing active input into the development, implementation and delivery of Branch plans.
- Providing regular reports on achievement of targets and takes remedial action where/when required.

Eligibility / Other Conditions
- Subject to appointment the successful applicant will be required to provide a valid satisfactory National Police Clearance.
- Post-Secondary qualification within the Intelligence discipline and qualification in intelligence database systems management or equivalent experience.
- Possession of current “C” class driver’s licence.
This position is located in the Perth Metropolitan area.
