These positions is part of the Aboriginal Employment Program (AEP), which is a diversity initiative to achieve equality and increase workforce representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Therefore, pursuant to Section 51 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA) only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants will be considered for this role. What is the Aboriginal Employment Program (AEP) about?
The AEP is a 12 month program which provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people employment and career development opportunities. The program commences in February 2020.

As part of the AEP the department has one part-time and one full time Administrative Assistant positions available.
The primary responsibility of both positions is to provide administrative and clerical support to the relevant branches.
Drawing on your experience in the use of the Microsoft Office applications, you will assist in the establishment and maintenance of appropriate clerical systems and utilise office technology appropriately.
The part-time position is located within Consumer Protection’s Strategic Development Branch, reporting to the General Manager Strategic Development. The position is located at 140 William Street, Perth, close to public transport links. The successful applicant will be required to work 22.5 hours per week on a flexible working arrangement.
The full-time position is located within the Human Resources Branch reporting to the Human Resources Project Officer. This position is located at Mineral House, East Perth close to public transport links.
Both positions require motivated individuals with a positive can-do attitude, who will possess the ability to manage multiple competing tasks while coordinating contentious issues within agreed timeframes.

- Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail;
- Demonstrated experience in using technology to provide a range of administrative support and using Microsoft Office applications; and
- Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
