Karratha is one of the largest and fastest growing towns in the north of Western Australia and is the heart of the West Pilbara Coast. Its location makes it an ideal base for exploring the Millstream Chichester National Park, Karijini National Park, Murujuga National Park, Dampier Archipelago, Point Samson and the Montebello Islands.
Similar appointments may be made from this process in locations throughout Western Australia within a 12-month period to positions that may be permanent or contract, including contract appointments with the possibility of subsequent permanency.

Job Description
Under the limited direction of the Regional Manager:
Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following three (3) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total.

Considerable knowledge of, and experience in the provision of nature conservation and natural land management services, in developing and implementing related operational plans, management plans and strategies, and having familiarity with the principles of planning for biodiversity outcomes and ecologically sustainable development.

Considerable experience in the effective management and leadership of teams, and in negotiating, communicating and liaising with the community, media, and special interest groups including Aboriginal people.

Substantial experience and competence in financial management and other management systems; including project management, risk management, and information technology.
Note: In accordance with relevant legislation and departmental policy, the successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.
